Welding Cap Care Instructions
Proper care helps your HD Welding Hat last longer and stay comfortable on the job. Follow these simple steps to keep your cap in top condition.
General Care – 100% Cotton Caps
- Washing: Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach or harsh detergents—they can weaken cotton and fade colors.
- Drying: After washing, reshape the cap and air dry. Avoid high heat or tumble drying, which can shrink or warp the brim.
- Ironing: If needed, iron on a cotton setting. Place a thin cloth between the iron and any embroidery or HTV to prevent damage.
- Starch (optional): A light spray of starch and ironing on the brim can help prevent sparks from sticking and keep the brim crisp.
Embroidered Caps (Rayon or Polyester Thread)
- Washing: Turn the cap inside out before washing to protect embroidery. Use cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid soaking.
- Drying: Shake gently to reshape and air dry flat, away from heat or direct sunlight.
- Ironing: Iron inside out on low to medium heat, with a cloth over embroidered areas. Avoid pressing too hard or using steam.
Heat-Transfer Vinyl Designs
- Washing: Turn inside out and wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not scrub or wring the vinyl design.
- Drying: Pat the vinyl area dry with a clean cloth, then lay flat to air dry. Keep away from heat or direct sun.
- Ironing: Iron inside out on low heat only, with a cloth barrier. Do not use steam or press directly on the vinyl.
Extra Care Tips
- Keep caps away from open flames, extreme heat, or harsh chemicals when not in use.
- Store in a cool, dry place to prevent odors and moisture buildup.
- Check stitching and embroidery occasionally. If you notice a loose thread, trim or secure it to prevent unraveling.
By following these care tips, you’ll protect your HD Welding Hat’s look, fit, and durability—on and off the job.
